Is salary packaging available to you?

If you’re an employee working for a FBT exempt employer (e.g. Not-for-Profit or Public Health) you can package living expenses such as mortgage payments, rent payments, etc., meal and entertainment expenses as well as a Novated Lease. If your employer holds a FBT rebate status, the suitability of benefits will depend somewhat on your income, but you will have access to a Novated Lease. Novated Leasing

Drive the car you want for less and save on your running costs with the comfort of knowing that we have the big expenses covered (e.g. tyres, major services, etc.) when they come due. A novated lease lets you use a combination of your pre-tax and post-tax income to finance a new, demo or used car (even your current car), saving you a bundle on tax and running costs.

We do all the legwork and paperwork to make the process as hassle-free as possible. As long as your employer agrees, most income earners can enjoy the benefits of a novated lease.

You don’t have to use the car for work purposes and you can even lease a second car for your partner or child. You also have the comfort that if you spend less during the lease term than what has been deducted from your pay, we refund the surplus to you through your payroll.

We can help you with:

  • Sourcing a new, demo or used car of your choice
  • Saving GST on dealership purchases
  • Bundling running costs such as servicing, repairs, tyres, registration and insurance
  • Issuing you with a multi-outlet fuel card
  • Comprehensive Insurance specifically tailored to a novated lease
  • Full disclosure so you know exactly what you will pay
  • No out-of-pocket expenses
  • Your choice of dealer, service centres and repairers local to you

Happy Family At Home

Remote Area Housing

Country life is pretty special in Australia, and for employees living and working outside of major regional centres, there are fringe benefits tax (FBT) advantages that can make that country living even more worthwhile.

If you live and work more than 40 kms from a small to medium-size town, or at least 100 kms from a regional centre you may be eligible for FBT concessions such as salary packaging half the interest on your mortgage, or half your monthly rent.

For eligible employees, payments are directed to your nominated bank account(s) and normally paid within 1 working day of your monthly claim. The ATO set the regulations eligibility, so if you’d like to check if you are eligible, please get in touch.

Meals & Entertainment

Did you know you can make the most of your pre-tax benefits by wining and dining, booking a holiday or having a celebration? It’s no wonder Meals & Entertainment is one of the most popular salary packaging benefits.

For employees in eligible industries, you can claim up to $2,650 of meals or travel as a pre-tax benefit each year. This reportable* benefit could not be easier or more fun to use.

How do you claim Meals & Entertainment?

  • Use your Beyond Bank Australia Meal Entertainment Card
  • Make your payments via a claim with itemised tax invoices
  • Make sure your meals are visible on the bill
  • Choose accommodation packages anywhere in Australia
  • Make sure your travel claims are packages – not just flights
  • Use it or lose it, as you only get a certain claimable amount each year

*Grossed up value of $5,000 reportable on PAYG summaries.

Work-Related Expenses

We all know you can claim work-related expenses at tax time but did you know that you may be able to instantly claim on those expenses as an additional benefit on top of your salary packaging cap?

Work-related expenses can be a key benefit for hospital workers and employees in the charitable and not-for-profit sectors.

You could claim on work-related expenses including:

  • Home office equipment
  • Laptops & devices
  • Mobile phones
  • Software you use for work
  • Work-related travel expenses
  • ‘Tools of the trade’
  • Self-Education

Regardless of your employer, if your expense qualifies as work-related, or is an ‘otherwise deductible’, then this can be salary packaged during the year rather than waiting to claim it through your tax return. To find out if you are eligible, please give us a call.
